Feel Good Buddy Returns to Adelaide!

One of the most popular musicals of the late twentieth century Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story returns to Adelaide after seven years to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the death of music legend Buddy Holly. The show which first premiered in Australia in 1991 will play for a limited season from 29 August at Her Majesty’s Theatre.

BUDDY opens in Sydney.

BUDDY, THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY has opened in Sydney at the Lyric Theatre Star City. The audiences all agree – Scott Cameron IS Buddy Holly. The Daily Telegraph said “his guitar playing is a real highlight”. Scott leads a talented cast who deliver the RAVE ON message of Buddy Holly every night. The sound of Buddy Holly and the Crickets and the exciting Act 2 Clearwater Concert, the last concert that Buddy Holly ever gave is recreated – with all on stage musicians reliving the magic era.

The national tour opened in Sydney following the launch visit of the original PEGGY SUE. Peggy Sue came to Australia and entranced fans as she remembered the Buddy she knew and how the hit song was written.

OH BOY, Buddy, is hit after hit and audiences are dancing in the aisles.

See the show that celebrates the icon Buddy Holly and get on your feet as the live music, from the stage bands recreate the era.

MUSICIAN Scott Cameron was born on the same day that Buddy Holly was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, so it’s serendipitous that he has now taken the eponymous role in Buddy The Musical.

BUDDY THE MUSICAL RETURNS
TO AUSTRALIA, 50 Years On!

BUDDY, The Buddy Holly Story was launched on 11 August at the Star City Ballroom. Over 500 fans gathered to hear more about the show that's been acclaimed around the world and now returns to Australia in 2009. This dazzling new production will open at the Lyric Theatre, Star City on 3 February 2009, exactly 50 years to 'the day the music died'. An Australian tour will follow.
