BUDDY! The Buddy Holly Story

Enjoy a night with Buddy Holly and raise money for a great cause

Live music fans can enjoy the popular “Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story” extravaganza and raise money for Queensland’s special needs children at the same time through a fundraising performance on 27 May.

Tickets are now available for the special performance at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC), with all profits raised directed to children’s charity Variety Queensland.

With a multi-talented cast, “Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story” tells his story, presents his music and features two terrific hours of his greatest hits.

Variety Queensland will use the money raised through the performance to provide a Liberty Swing to Innisfail, a small Queensland town still recovering from 2006’s devastating Cyclone Larry. The installation of a Liberty Swing in Innisfail will be a great help to the many children who use wheelchairs in the area.

The Variety Liberty Swing is the first wheelchair swing in the world and gives children with disabilities the chance to enjoy the freedom of playing in the park.

In 2008 alone, Variety Queensland granted more than $2.7 million to help more than 6,000 special needs children gain independence, aid learning and a better quality of life through wheelchairs, laptop computers and educational equipment.
