The Australian Dance Awards are being presented in Melbourne for the first time in 2008. To celebrate, Ausdance Victoria has put together the first ever Australian Dance Awards Public Program, which will transform the Arts Centre precinct into a swirl of colour and movement for the entire day leading up to the evening’s gala ceremony.

Kid’s Dance Workshop
Children can experience the colourful, fun, high energy dances of the Ukrainian Cossacks with Verchovyna Ukrainian Dance Ensemble.

Fresh Dance New Beats performances
Tasty new collaborations between cultural dance groups and professional
choreographers, specially made for this occasion and performed for the first
time! Polynesian and Ukrainian dances meet hip hop, and Classical Indian and
traditional Sri Lankan dances meet contemporary.
